Lauren Hulett

Founder and Instructor

For more than 15 years, I've dedicated my career to teaching, first as a high school mathematics teacher and now as a comprehensively trained STOTT Pilates instructor and studio owner.

Teaching has always been at the center of my work, whether explaining mathematical concepts or helping someone better understand how their body moves.

After completing my Pilates training, I quickly realized that Pilates had become my foundation. With every new training or continuing education course I took, I found myself circling back to the Pilates principles that shaped the way I understood movement.

Aligned was created by combining that foundation with everything I've learned throughout my career. It's the method I believe in and the way I train and teach.

Azlynn Mims

Instructor

Azlynn Mims background as a competitive dancer made Pilates a natural transition, combining her love of movement with the structure, precision, and intentionality she developed through dance.

She is currently completing her Comprehensive certification through Power Pilates and is a fourth-generation Classical Pilates instructor, following a direct teaching lineage from Joseph Pilates. Her training has given her a deep appreciation for the history, principles, and integrity of the original Pilates method, which continues to shape her approach to movement and teaching.

Azlynn is excited to be part of Aligned and to contribute to the community Lauren has created. She believes movement should be both challenging and encouraging, and strives to create classes where clients feel supported while building strength, awareness, and confidence in their bodies.

She hopes every client leaves class feeling stronger, taller, and more connected to their movement.

Lexie Phillips

Instructor

Movement has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I was involved in diving and cheer, which sparked an early love for strength, movement, and overall wellness.

After working in corporate retail in Columbus for four years, my husband and I made the move to Dayton, where I decided to turn my passion for movement into a career through pilates. My training has deepened my appreciation for intentional movement and how thoughtful exercises can build strength, control, and confidence.

I love creating mindful yet challenging flows and teaching in a way that feels encouraging. My goal is for every client to leave class feeling stronger, more connected to their body, and good about the way they moved. I can’t wait to see you in class!

Rebecca Combs

Instructor

Rebecca started her fitness career in 2006, teaching group fitness classes like spinning, turbo kick and PIYO. A knee injury led her to discover pilates on the reformer and soon after she earned her certification from STOTT pilates.

She loves watching people grow stronger and move better in everyday life. "It’s all about lengthening, strengthening and moving with control. Pilates has not only helped me recover from a devastating knee injury, but has helped me so much as a competitive equestrian,” says Rebecca. “Pilates keeps my legs and core strong and definitely helps me stay balanced in the saddle.”

Teaching pilates is a second career for Rebecca. After graduating from Miami University with a degree in Mass Communication she was a TV news reporter for WHIO-TV in Dayton. “While I enjoyed my time at channel 7, I believe teaching pilates is my true calling and I can’t wait to share its benefits with everyone."

Taylor Martin

Instructor

Taylor’s movement background began with years of hip hop dance and 4-H, which gave her a strong foundation in strength, coordination, and body awareness. Despite being active throughout her childhood, she never considered herself someone who enjoyed working out. That changed when she discovered Pilates. She loved that it was challenging without feeling punishing, allowing her to build strength and mobility while becoming more connected to her body.

Taylor’s love for Pilates was deeply influenced by her experience taking classes with Lauren. Lauren was also the first person to recognize Taylor’s passion for the method and encourage her to pursue teaching. Taylor completed her Balanced Body instructor training in 2025 and is now beginning her teaching journey through a hands-on apprenticeship.

Taylor is passionate about making Pilates accessible to everyone and loves its ability to support strength, mobility, rehabilitation, and body awareness. With her background in dance, she especially enjoys the feeling of mastering movements that once seemed impossible. She hopes to help clients experience that same sense of challenge, accomplishment, and connection.
